According to the latest report from CCTV, Israel launched intensive airstrikes on the Yemeni port city of Hodeidah during the night of July 6 and the early hours of July 7 local time.

Local residents reported hearing explosions at the port of Hodeidah.

According to the Houthi forces, Israel targeted multiple sites during the strikes, including the ports of Hodeidah, Ras Isa, and Salif, as well as a local power station in Yemen’s western Hodeidah Governorate.

In the early hours of July 7, Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant stated that the Israeli military had launched strikes on “Houthi targets in Yemen,” including the ports of Hodeidah, Salif, Ras Isa, and the Ras Katib power station.

Gallant also mentioned that the cargo vessel Galaxy Leader, which was seized and controlled by Houthi forces in the Red Sea in November 2023, was among the targets of this operation.

According to the statement, the airstrikes were supported by intelligence agencies and the navy, with dozens of fighter jets participating in the operation.

Prior to the airstrikes, on the evening of July 6 local time, the Israeli military’s Arabic-language spokesperson issued so-called “evacuation orders” on social media, warning personnel at the ports of Hodeidah, Ras Isa, Salif, and the local power station in Hodeidah to leave the areas, stating that airstrikes would soon follow.
